May 25, 2009 thru September 1. The start of the A summer walking challenge.
2000 steps is equivalent to 1 miles walked. Registration begins mid-May, please register at Lowell City Hall, Englehardt Library, Lowell Senior Neighbors and Alto Library.

Cancer Well-fit™ Classes To Be Held

Lowell Community Wellness is excited to announce a new wellness class designed for people experiencing cancer.  Cancer Well-fit™, instructed by experienced and certified staff from the Michigan Athletic Club and East Hills Athletic Club, will begin on Monday, July 15th at 5:00 p.m.  This hour-long class will be tailored to fit the needs of each registrant.  If you or a loved one are currently experiencing cancer and would like an improvement in your energy, confidence and overall physical strength, you should consider participating.  The cost for this class is $15 per person for a 10-week session and is open to people with an active form of cancer and their “support” person.  Classes will be held at the Wittenbach/Wege Agriscience and Environmental Education Center.  Please contact Lowell Community Wellness at info@lowellcommunitywellness.org or by calling 340-7781 for more information.  This class is made possible from the proceeds of the Pink Arrow Project.

Be a Big Brother or A Big Sister
Be a Mentor for a Middle school age students. Mentors are needed to spend 1 hour per week for 1 year with a child. Contact Tracy Straw of Big Brother and Big Sisters of West Michigan - Tracy Straw 616 774-4616.
