Big Talent Rocks the Rumble!
2nd Year Draws 25 Teams from 5 Power States.

Lowell, Michigan: They say if you build it they will come.
That’s exactly what happened with this years Summer Duals Tournament at Lowell, Michigan. The Grand River Rumble packed a mean punch as teams from Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Illinois showed up with hard nosed teams. High School thru Youth wrestlers looking to battle left a little blood, sweat and a few tears on the mat, at the end of the day everyone acknowledged the wrestling was everything they bargained for.

Early battles in High School action put teams such as Ragin Raisins Pink (PA) and Michigan Xtreme Gold in a showdown with the outcome hinged on the Heavyweight match, a nail biter to the end of the 3rd period launching Xtreme Gold right into the Final Four.

Another great match up in the second round of high school pools, the hometown team Flat River Wrestling Club faced Kasson Mantorville of Minnesota with both teams filled with several returning state qualifiers from respective states. Flat River boys battled with determination and physical intensity taking KM and eventually eliminated Pennsylvania’s Ragin Raisins Purple to advance into the Championship Pool.

In the High School Championship Pool Flat River WC was a few points shy of taking 3rd Place away from last years Team Champs All-American (Pa) and Michigan Xtreme Black loaded with National talent eliminated Xtreme Gold and claimed the 2008 Grand River Rumble High School Championship.

As the temperature rose so did the intensity as some of the country’s best Middle School Wrestlers were heated as Michigan Xtreme, All-American (PA) and Kasson Mantorville (MN) found great matches with MYWA East All-Stars (MI) and Abba Zabba (MI) but it was Michigan Xtreme taking the Middle School Championship with a 40-27 finish over Minnesota’s Kasson Mantorville leaving Pennsylvania All-American taking home the 3rd Place hardware winning on tie breaker criteria with Michigan’s MYWA East All-Stars.
